Hello everyone

Mon Aug 11, 2008, 11:48 AM
I'm very novice at drawing, so please, while some critique is welcome, there's no need to bash my work, as I'm not going to quit my day job and I don't claim to be the next Picasso.

I used to draw all the time when I was 13/14, but I gave up on it until just a matter of a week ago. I'm 18 years old now and decided I'd like to see if I still have any skill with it at all.

So I'm basically a beginner at this. Although I doubt I'll ever be great, I hope I'll improve over time.

But thank you for your interest in my art, I'm here to learn as well as to have a place to keep my art, so if you have any constructive advice on how to draw something better, or any ways in which perhaps I should be practicing, I'd love to hear it.

oh great! no problem at all. i'm so glad it helps. the picture looks great by the way. you improve so quick! :D awesome! can't wait to see more of your work!
hey there! thanks a lot for your comment, i'm really glad you like my drawings and it's really nice to meet another fan of conan and colbert.
as for drawing in general, for me, when i got started, i found that i had a hard time with balance and proportions, so what i did when i started out was to create a grid on both the reference picture and the blank paper i'm drawing on, that will keep everything proportionate and your drawing more alike with your reference photo. and then after a lot of practice, you will feel confident and you can draw without using grids anymore. a good drawing depends a lot on the shading, so i spent a lot of time working on that as well.
anyways, i hope this helps, i recommend that you draw the people you like, so it will keep you interested and you won't be bored. and draw a lot, when you have time. :D
and thank you for the watch!
Wow that sounds like a really smart idea. I'll try that, and tell you how it goes! :) thank you.
Thanks for watching .... <3
